September 4 was the day everyone had been waiting for—the Waseda Saga School Festival!

Despite the rainy weather, nothing could dampen the students’ enthusiasm! Performances originally scheduled for the outdoor stage were moved to the kendo hall at the last minute, but that didn’t stop the crowds from pouring in. The venue was packed, with enthusiastic cheers greeting one performance after another.

Meanwhile, the gymnasium was buzzing with excitement as the Wind Ensemble, student bands, dance groups, and other performers took to the stage. The energy was incredible! Performers and audience members alike joined in the excitement, with cheers so loud they seemed to shake the entire gym!

Over in the junior high school building, first-year students presented their research projects on local industries in Karatsu. Working in groups, they shared their findings through presentations featuring slides and videos, speaking confidently in front of their audiences. Second- and third-year students hosted a Food Festival, offering a wide variety of delicious food with the generous support of members of the local community. With activities organized by the Festival Committee and various school clubs, there was plenty for everyone to enjoy!

In the high school building, each classroom had been transformed into something completely different. From casinos and haunted houses to themed cafés, students showed off their creativity with an impressive range of attractions. Some were so popular that long lines formed outside! Throughout the day, students explored the festival with their friends, and smiles could be seen everywhere.

The science building was another hub of activity. The Science Club offered exhibits and hands-on experiences featuring biology, experiments, robotics, and video presentations. At the Presentation Dojo, junior and senior high school students took the stage to share presentations on a variety of topics.

Of course, the real stars of the festival were the students themselves. Led by the Festival Organizing Committee, students worked together to plan and prepare everything from classroom attractions and grade-level activities to stage performances. Every corner of the school reflected their creativity, teamwork, and dedication.

Rain or shine, the students were determined to make the most of every moment. They laughed, cheered, ate, sang, and danced their way through an unforgettable day! More than anything, the festival was a celebration of their enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to try new things.

Finally, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the members of our school’s Parent Support Association and everyone in the local community who helped with the junior high school Food Festival and high school food sales. Thanks to your generous support, this year’s festival was truly a day to remember!
