6月20日・21日・23日に宮崎県で開催された第79回全九州高等学校ラグビーフットボール大会において、本校ラグビー部が2位ブロックで見事初優勝を果たしました。

県大会を勝ち抜き、佐賀県代表として九州大会に出場した本校は、1回戦で九州学院高校（熊本）に45対14、準決勝では鹿児島実業高校（鹿児島）に76対17で快勝し、決勝へ駒を進めました。

迎えた決勝では、福岡県代表の修猷館高校と対戦。攻守にわたり粘り強いプレーを見せ、36対14で勝利し、2位ブロック優勝の栄冠をつかみ取りました。この優勝は、本校にとって全九州大会2位ブロックでの初優勝という快挙となりました。

選手たちは、日頃の厳しい練習で培ったチームワークと最後まで諦めない粘り強さを存分に発揮し、一戦一戦成長を重ねながら頂点へと駆け上がりました。九州各県の強豪校が集う大会で勝ち取った今回の優勝は、選手たちにとって大きな自信となるとともに、今後のさらなる飛躍への弾みとなることでしょう。

ラグビー部の皆さん、優勝おめでとうございます。今後ますますの活躍を期待しています。

From June 20 to 23, Waseda Saga High School’s Rugby Club competed in the 79th All Kyushu High School Rugby Football Tournament, held in Miyazaki Prefecture, and claimed the 2nd Division championship for the first time in our school’s history!

After earning the right to represent Saga Prefecture, the team defeated Kyushu Gakuin High School (Kumamoto) 45–14 in the first round and Kagoshima Jitsugyo High School (Kagoshima) 76–17 in the semifinals to advance to the final.

In the championship match, Waseda Saga faced Shuyukan High School (Fukuoka). Displaying outstanding teamwork, determination, and resilient defense, the team secured a convincing 36–14 victory, capturing the 2nd Division title.

This marks the school’s first-ever championship in the 2nd Division of the All Kyushu High School Rugby Tournament.

Throughout the tournament, the players demonstrated the teamwork, perseverance, and fighting spirit they have developed through countless hours of training. Their success against some of Kyushu’s strongest high school teams is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and this achievement will undoubtedly give them confidence as they continue to strive for even greater success.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches on this remarkable accomplishment. We look forward to seeing the Rugby Club continue to excel in future competitions!!
