6月6日、中学校オープンスクールを開催しました。過去最高となる650名もの皆さまにご来校いただき、体験授業や授業見学、個別相談などにご参加いただきました。

新生徒会が発足して初めて迎える大きな行事ということもあり、生徒たちは張り切って準備を進めてきました。

全体プログラムでは、司会をはじめ、中学生の一日の流れを英語で紹介する発表や、探究活動で学年1位に輝いたグループによる発表など、生徒たちが堂々と活躍しました。

また、受付や来校者の誘導、個別相談コーナーでの学校生活紹介、八太郎館での案内など、さまざまな場所で生徒たちが来校者の皆さまをお迎えしました。

会場では、広報サークルが中心となって制作した学校紹介動画や体育祭動画も上映され、多くの方に本校の魅力をご覧いただきました。

さらに、お昼からは中学生が考案したキッチンカーのオリジナルメニューを販売。総合的な学習の時間で取り組んできた探究活動の一端を体験していただく機会となりました。

生徒たちの活躍が随所に見られた一日となりました。

On June 6th, we welcomed prospective students and their families for our Junior High School Open School. A record-breaking 650 visitors joined us for the day, taking part in demo lessons, classroom observations, and individual consultation sessions. 

As the first major event organized by the new Junior High School Student Council, our students have eagerly taken on the challenge of preparing for the day. During the main program, they confidently stepped into the spotlight – serving as emcees, introducing (entirely in English!!) a day in the life of a junior high school student at Waseda Saga, and re-delivering the first-place-winning presentation from last year’s inquiry-based learning projects. 

Students also played active roles all over campus, welcoming guests at reception, guiding them to each venue, answering questions during individual consultation sessions, and assisting guests at the dormitory, Hachitarokan. 

Visitors also enjoyed videos about Waseda Saga and the Sports Festival, all produced by the Public Relations Club. In the afternoon, they were invited to lunch on the original menu items our students prepared for last year’s Culture Festival, all available from the stands and kitchen cars of the collaborating restaurants. The initiative was part of their inquiry-based learning program provided an excellent example of the kind of creative, hands-on projects our students pursue throughout the year. 

From the beginning to the end, the day showcased the enthusiasm, leadership, and hospitality of Waseda Saga Junior High.
