8月12日（水）から16日（日）まで、和歌山セーリングセンターで開催された「令和8年度全国高等学校総合体育大会ヨット競技大会・第67回全国高等学校ヨット選手権大会（インターハイ）」に、本校の生徒が出場しました。本校には部活動としてのヨット部はありませんが，生徒が社会体育としての個人的な活動の中で，佐賀県代表として参加しています。

強風のコンディションの中、全国の強豪選手と競い合い、全国7位の成績を収めました。6位の選手とは同点でしたが、順位決定により惜しくも入賞を逃す結果となりました。

また、9月4日（金）から7日（月）まで青森県むつ市で開催される国民スポーツ大会にも、佐賀県代表として出場します。

インターハイでの経験を生かし、国スポでのさらなる活躍を期待しています。
 

 One of our students participated in the 67th Annual High School Sailing Championship, which was held August 12th to 16th in Wakayama Prefecture.  Our school doesn’t have a sailing club, so the student participated in the competition individually as a representative of Saga Prefecture. She raced through strong winds against strong competitors from around the country and managed to place 7th. Originally tied for 6th place, she unfortunately lost the deciding round and missed the chance to receive an award. 

 Next week, she will once again be representing Saga at the Japan Games in Aomori Prefecture (September 4th through 7th), so wish her the best of luck and hope that she’ll use her experience at the High School Competition to fuel her determination for victory at the Games.
